Saskatchewan Home Sales Continue To Rise

Home sales in Saskatchewan went up in May 2021, increasing 67 per cent, year-over-year, says a report from the Saskatchewan Realtor Association. New listings were up over 14 per cent. Strong demand combined with falling inventory levels continues to put upward pressure on prices even with the new mortgage regulations now in place to help regulate home prices. “The rules introduced in 2018 saw prices fall just over one per cent across the province, but they’ve continued climbing,” says Chris Gbekorbu, economic analyst for the association. He says while sales may fall in the coming months, the drop is likely to be temporary.
