Vancouver Home Sales Reach Traditional Pace

Home sales in the Vancouver, BC, area fell in April and returned to more historically typical levels for the month, says the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV). However, sales figures in the Fraser Valley dropped to their lowest number in almost two years. Residential home sales in the area it covers totaled 3,232 in April, down from 4,908 in April 2021 and 4,344 homes in March 2022. Yet, the April sales were 1.5 per cent above the 10-year sales average for the month. Daniel John, chair of the REBGV, says the return to a more traditional pace of home sales over the last two months provides hopeful homebuyers more time to make decisions, secure financing, and perform other due diligence such as home inspections.
