AD and IMARK Electrical set to merge following shareholder vote
IMARK Electrical shareholders have voted overwhelmingly to approve a merger with AD, according to a company announcement. The merger, initially proposed in early June, is expected to close later this year pending customary closing conditions.
Bob Smith, CEO and President of IMARK Electrical, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, noting widespread support from the distributor and supplier communities. “This is absolutely seen as ‘the right move at the right time,’” Smith said.
John Thompson, CEO of First Electric Supply and chairman of the IMARK Electrical Board, highlighted the merger’s potential benefits. “We feel strongly that this merger will combine the best of both organizations,” Thompson stated.
The merger will create the Independent Electrical Supply Division within AD, enhancing collaboration among 725 US independent electrical distributors.
