Alberta receives $132 million from federal infrastructure fund

The federal government has transferred over $132 million to Alberta through the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) as part of the 2024-2025 fiscal year. This is the first of two payments, with the second expected later in the year. The funding is expected to help Alberta communities invest in critical infrastructure, including public transit, drinking water, and community energy systems.

Alberta will receive more than $1.39 billion under the CCBF over the next five years, with $265 million allocated for this fiscal year. The agreement, renewed from 2024-2034, ensures stable funding for infrastructure projects across the province.

“To build affordable, inclusive and stronger communities, we must continue to invest in infrastructure across the country,” noted Minister of Employment Randy Boissonnault.
