Beaconsfield approves cultural center design for centennial project

Beaconsfield City Council has approved the selection of Lemay-Bouthillette Parizeau-Elema by the architectural contest jury to design the multipurpose cultural centre for the IMAGINE Centennial project. During its meeting on July 15, the council tasked the administration to proceed with awarding contracts for the preparation of plans and specifications this fall.

The IMAGINE Centennial project, initiated in 2018, involved nearly 200 citizens in six public consultation sessions in 2019. The feedback from these sessions guided subsequent steps, including the hiring of architect Philippe Drolet in 2023. The project received financial support of $3.1 million from provincial and federal governments. This grant enables Beaconsfield to kickstart the revitalization of Centennial Park and Marina with the construction of a multipurpose cultural centre, estimated at around $18 million, plus taxes.
