Bed Bath & Beyond Canada Division Insolvent

New Jersey-based Bed Bath & Beyond’s Canadian operations are going out of business, says a court filing entered last week. The filing says the retailer’s Canadian division – made up of 54 Bed Bath & Beyond stores and 11 buybuy BABY stores – is insolvent. The filing also says the division does not have the capacity or ability to recapitalize or restore the Canadian operations. The retail chain has been struggling for many months and trying to avoid bankruptcy. It has been cutting jobs, closing stores, and raising financing to try and stay in business.
