Beko receives SBTi validation for net-zero climate targets
Beko, a global home appliance company, has secured validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its 1.5°C-aligned net-zero and near-term emission reduction goals. This achievement underscores Beko’s commitment to tackling climate change across its value chain, which emits 99% of its greenhouse gases in Scope 3 categories, including product use.
“While we are proud today to have been validated by the SBTi following the steps we have taken within the last fifteen years to embed our emission reduction targets into our entire business model, there is more work to be done," said CEO Hakan Bulgurlu.
The company aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with interim targets to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and Scope 3 emissions by 42% by 2030, based on a 2022 baseline. By 2050, it plans a 90% reduction across all scopes.
