Blue Smooth Ironspot named brick colour of the year

Brick manufacturer Glen-Gery has named ‘Blue Smooth Ironspot’ as its 2024 brick colour of the year. The colour offers a dark, extruded face brick that not only exudes a sense of boldness but also shimmers and reflects light. The company says this colour reflects evolving design preferences for natural bolder shades.

After noticing a growing preference for darker bricks in its collection, Glen-Gery introduced Blue Smooth Ironspot as a part of the Sioux City Blues Series, a range of dark blue-black bricks. Varying weather and lighting bring out the inherent luster and sheen in each individual brick.
