Boost your home sale: 7 profitable upgrades
Home improvements can significantly boost a property’s market value, according to Faulkner’s recent report on the seven most profitable upgrades before selling.
At number one, thorough cleaning is the simplest and most cost-effective way to attract potential buyers, removing any off-putting smells and enhancing appeal. Staging ranks second, offering a way to make rooms feel more spacious and attractive.
Fresh paint, particularly in light, neutral tones, takes third place, brightening spaces and making them feel larger. Fourth on the list is new flooring, with vinyl plank recommended for its durability and seamless aesthetic.
Focusing on curb appeal ranks fifth, as first impressions strongly influence buyers. Updating hardware to create a more modern feel is next, followed by making small repairs that prevent buyers from assuming larger issues elsewhere.
These strategies, according to Faulkner, can lead to a quicker sale and higher offers.
