Canada’s premier clean energy conference draws over 2,600 attendees
More than 2,600 attendees gathered at this year’s Electricity Transformation Canada (ETC) conference in Calgary, the flagship event of the Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA), where leaders addressed emerging challenges and innovations in the clean energy sector. Held Oct. 21-23, the event featured over 125 speakers and more than 150 exhibitors focused on advancing wind, solar, and energy storage technologies.
CanREA president and CEO Vittoria Bellissimo highlighted the industry’s ongoing shift toward renewables, underscoring the affordability of wind and solar energy as Canada pursues sustainable energy solutions.
“We have now entered the Age of Electricity, in which affordability is paramount,” Bellissimo remarked, emphasizing Canada’s need for a robust, diversified clean energy strategy.
ETC 2024 also marked the launch of CanREA’s clean-energy procurement calendar, supporting over 10,000 MW in procurement initiatives valued at more than $20 billion.
