Canada invests $500,000 to train workers in heat pump technology

The Government of Canada is investing over $500,000 in training skilled workers to meet the growing demand for heat pump technology across the country. Announced by Julie Dabrusin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the funding will support the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) in addressing a skills gap among HVAC technicians.

As more Canadians switch to heat pumps to lower energy bills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the initiative aims to equip workers with the necessary skills to install and maintain these systems safely. This investment aligns with Canada’s broader goals of creating a cleaner economy and advancing toward net-zero emissions.
