Canadian Tire Opens Its Largest Canadian Store

As Canadian Tire celebrates its 100th birthday this year, it has opened its largest store in the country in Ottawa, ON. The 135,000-square-foot store offers two levels of retail space and is one of two ‘Remarkable Retail’ Canadian Tire locations opening in Canada, with the second in Welland, ON. The format, which represents the next generation of the retailer’s large format store, was announced as part of its $3.4 billion strategic investment over four years to create better customer experiences across the country. The store features a six-car customer pick up canopy area so customers can click and collect their items purchased online; a transformed garden centre with four-season capabilities that is directly connected to the retail floor and can be used for live goods and other products; and an auto service department that includes a vehicle drive-in, auto lounge, and upscale tire wall. It also has the second largest Canadian Tire warehouse in the country.
