Connector system designed for thicker ICF walls
The Simpson Strong-Tie Ledger Connector System (ICFVL) is designed to accommodate thicker insulated concrete form (ICF) walls. The system features longer legs in order to meet the higher levels of insulating needs. The ICFVL6 can be used on wall foam thicknesses up to 3 ¼”, while the ICFVL8 works on wall foam thicknesses up to 4 ½” thick. It offers on-centre spacing, faster installation, and no protrusions. It provides both vertical and lateral in-plane support and its embedded legs are embossed for additional stiffness and higher loads. Round holes in the ICFVL leg enable concrete to flow through and around the connector for better alignment, and the exposed flange on the face of the ICF provides a structural surface for mounting a wood ledger. The ICFVL6 replaces Simpson Strong-Tie’s ICFVL connector model, while the ICFVL8 is a new model.
