Construction begins on affordable housing project in Gracefield

The governments of Quebec and Canada, alongside the City of Gracefield, have officially launched the Habitations au Cœur de la Vallée project. The initiative, aimed at providing 26 units for individuals with disabilities and those with low to moderate incomes, represents a significant investment of over $13 million.

Robert Bussière, Member of the National Assembly for Gatineau, announced the start of construction on behalf of Quebec’s Housing Minister, France-Élaine Duranceau.

The project benefits from $7.7 million from the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ) and $5 million from the Canadian government. Gracefield is contributing more than $3.9 million. The project, slated for completion in September 2025, will offer affordable, adapted housing for residents of the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau.
