East Vancouver welcomes 157 new affordable homes for seniors
This September, East Vancouver’s Grandview-Woodland neighborhood will welcome 157 new not-for-profit rental homes for seniors aged 55 and over. The development, named Timbre & Harmony, replaces two aging buildings and adds 100 additional units, providing a modern, accessible living environment.
Funded primarily by the federal government through the Affordable Housing Fund, with support from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund, the project promotes sustainability through Passive House certification, which significantly reduces energy consumption.
The redevelopment includes elevators, accessible spaces, and 35 fully accessible units. Leasing begins in September 2024.
