Employers mandated to mitigate risk in workplace
Workplace safety not only protects workers from injury and illness, it can also lower injury/illness costs, reduce absenteeism and turnover, increase work quality and productivity, and raise employee morale. In other words, safety is good for business. In fact, if health and safety risks are not addressed, there can be immediate consequences that go beyond employee safety such as legal action, imprisonment, and fines.
