Energizer Has First Quarter Loss

Energizer Holdings, Inc. had net sales of $765.1 million in the first quarter of 2022, down 9.6 per cent from $846.3 million in the year-ago period. Net earnings were $49 million, down 18.3 per cent from $60 million, year over year. Gross margin was 39 per cent compared to 36.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2022. The batteries and lights segment had net sales of $671.6 million, down 9.3 per cent from $740.2 million in the prior-year period.
