Family in Prince Albert receives new habitat home
A family in Prince Albert has been granted ownership of their new Habitat for Humanity residence, made possible by a joint investment of $65,000 from the Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan, in conjunction with substantial volunteer contributions from the local community.
Alana Ross, MLA for Prince Albert Northcote, representing Gene Makowsky, Social Services Minister and Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, joined Habitat for Humanity and City of Prince Albert representatives to officially hand over the keys to the new homeowners.
The single-family home is a five-bedroom, 1,104-square-foot bungalow with a developed basement.
The funding for the residence comprised $65,000 from the Government of Canada-Saskatchewan Bi-Lateral Agreement as part of the National Housing Strategy, along with an additional $15,000 from the City of Prince Albert.
