Favourable Price Mix Drives Clorox Sales

The Clorox Company had net sales of $1.72 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2023, an increase of one per cent compared to net sales in the second quarter of fiscal 2022. The increase was driven largely by favourable price mix and partially offset by lower volume. Organic sales were up four per cent year over year. Gross profit for the quarter increased 320 basis points to 36.2 per cent from 33 per cent in the year-ago quarter. The health and wellness segment (includes cleaning supplies) had a net sales decrease of two per cent compared to the year-ago quarter; the household segment (includes bags, wraps and grilling products) had a net sales increase of nine per cent; the lifestyle segment (includes water filtration) had a net sales increase of two per cent; and the international segment (outside the U.S.) had a net sales decrease of three per cent.
