Fraser Valley voters cite affordability as top concern
A recent survey by the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB), conducted by the Mustel Group, has revealed significant concerns among voters in the lead-up to the October 19 provincial election. Affordability, leadership, and the future of the region dominated the discussion.
Key issues for Fraser Valley residents include cost of living (66%), housing affordability (60%), and healthcare (45%). Nearly half (45%) of respondents believe their quality of life will worsen over the next five years, while 38% have considered leaving the province due to high living costs.
Divided opinions persist on government leadership, with 37% saying the NDP is steering the province in the wrong direction. Solutions for the housing crisis, such as increasing housing density and reducing red tape, are widely supported.
The findings reflect growing voter demand for comprehensive solutions to address housing, infrastructure, and economic challenges.
