Fund To Expedite Affordable Home Construction

The federal government has launched the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) to fast track the creation of 100,000 homes. The fund will assist cities, towns, and Indigenous governments with development and approvals. It will provide upfront funding to support implementation and additional funds upon delivering results. Local governments are now invited to develop action plans to remove barriers to building more homes. The $4 billion initiative will run until 2026-27. The application portal for the HAF opens in June.
