Government partners with Kwanlin Dün and Ta'an Kwäch'än to expedite housing development
The Government of Canada announced agreements with Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta'an Kwäch'än Council to expedite the construction of 107 housing units over three years, part of a larger plan to build 1,518 homes in the next decade.
Funded by the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF), over $7.2 million in funding will be provided to eliminate barriers to rapid housing development. Initiatives include new homebuyer incentives, improved infrastructure tracking, and streamlined construction processes. These efforts aim to alleviate the housing crisis by increasing affordable housing options. This project is part of a broader federal initiative to fast-track 100,000 new homes in three years, encouraging innovative local government action plans.
