Habitat for Humanity and partners celebrate new homes in Oshawa

Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (Habitat GTA) and Durham Region Non-Profit Housing Corporation (DRNPHC) celebrated the completion of 50 new homes today at 485 Normandy St. and 512 Lomond St. The development includes 26 affordable ownership homes for Habitat partner families and 24 affordable rental units for DRNPHC families.

“This effort showcases the power of collaboration in addressing the housing affordability crisis,” said Habitat GTA CEO Ene Underwood.

The project, supported by the Government of Canada’s Affordable Housing Fund, aims to combat Durham’s housing crisis by promoting inclusivity. This fund includes a Black Families Funding investment of $3.6 million.
