Home Depot Sales Up Slightly

The Home Depot had sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022 of $35.8 billion, an increase of $112 million, or 0.3 percent from the fourth quarter of 2021. Comparable sales for the quarter decreased 0.3 percent as did comparable sales in the U.S. Net earnings for the fourth quarter were $3.4 billion, unchanged from the same period of fiscal 2021. However, sales for 2022 were $157.4 billion, an increase of $6.2 billion, or 4.1 per cent, from 2021. Comparable sales for fiscal 2022 increased 3.1 per cent, and comparable sales in the U.S. increased 2.9 per cent. While customer transaction dropped six per cent from 402.5 million to 378.5 million in the three months ended January 29, the average ticket grew 5.8 per cent to $90.05 from $85.11.
