Home Depot teams up with OCH to create inviting community areas
Around 70 volunteers from Ottawa’s Home Depot stores collaborated to build benches, a pergola, a deck, flower boxes, and picnic tables. These features will create welcoming outdoor spaces for Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) residents to gather and connect.
This is the third community improvement project Home Depot has undertaken with OCH, providing all necessary materials for the initiative.
Established in 2011, OCH’s Volunteer Engagement Program connects corporate partners with tenant-driven projects to enhance communities. “Volunteer projects transform our communities and are the essence of collaboration,” said Stéphane Giguère, CEO of OCH.
Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) manages about 15,000 homes for 33,000 tenants, including seniors, families, individuals, and people with disabilities.
