Home Hardware, Tree Canada Donate Fruit Trees
To mark 30 years of partnership, Home Hardware Stores Limited and Tree Canada will donate close to 30 fruit trees to Community Support Connections in Woolwich, ON. This donation aims to alleviate food insecurity in the community and builds on the 30 Home Hardware Community Tree Plants held across the country this fall. At the end of September, volunteers gathered to plant the variety of fruit trees at Community Support Connections in Breslau township in Woolwich. The non-profit organization’s Meals on Wheels program serves the people of Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and North Dumfries, ON, by delivering 300 to 350 meals per day and strives to enable people to live at home with independence and dignity. “These trees will provide our Meals on Wheels program with fresh fruit sourced straight from our garden,” says Jerry Lawlor, director of revenue development, Community Support Connections.
