Homebuyers prefer detached homes in suburbs

Single-family suburban homes still reign supreme despite high housing prices, finds the ‘What Homebuyers Want 2023’ report from real estate marketplace Zolo. The report says 62% of Canadians strongly prefer fully detached homes and 71% of prospective buyers prefer suburban or rural areas. Features that are ‘must-haves’ for buyers include a main floor bathroom (54%); updated kitchen (53%); and outdoor spaces like a patio, deck, or outdoor space (50%).
