KNIPEX launches interactive app

KNIPEX has launched an app to digitize its offerings and enable users and customers to discover product information. Called ‘KNIPEX – pliers finder for professionals,’ the app can also be used to find the right tool for a specific application. The KNIPEXplorer product finder is a resource for pipe cutting and crimping tools. App users are prompted to enter information such as the application and material used and the KNIPEXplorer will suggest the right tool for the job. Additional tool categories will be included in the KNIPEXplorer in coming months. The app features an augmented reality (AR) function where the camera can view the tool in three dimensions, rotate it, zoom in on it, and virtually place it anywhere in the user’s environment. Users can also save any tools of interest to their personal ‘wishlist’ section. The app can find store locations for both in-store and online orders. The app is now available to download in the App Store or Google Play. The Germany-based manufacture specializes in hand tools and has more than 1,300 tools in its product portfolio.
