Lumber prices impact Conifex earnings
Conifex Timber Inc. had consolidated net loss from continuing operations of $5.3 million for the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to a net loss of $0.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2022. The loss was primarily the result of the lower lumber sales prices. The company produced 33.2 million board feet of lumber in the fourth quarter, representing approximately 55 percent of annualized capacity. Lumber production was 27.9 million board feet or approximately 47 percent of operating capacity in the fourth quarter of 2022. Revenues from lumber products were $24.8 million, representing a five percent increase from the fourth quarter of 2022.
