Majority of Canadians focused on reducing household food waste–survey
A recent survey by FoodSaver® has revealed that 77% of Canadians using food storage products prioritize reducing household food waste.
Amid rising grocery costs and environmental concerns, food waste is a growing issue in Canada. The National Zero Waste Council reported that the average Canadian household wastes over 300 pounds of food annually, costing more than $1,300. Fruits and vegetables make up 45% of this waste.
Canadians are increasingly turning to better food storage practices, like vacuum sealing, to extend the shelf life of their groceries, save money, and lessen their environmental impact.
