Marty Young opens second Home Hardware location

Marty Young, dealer-owner of Home Hardware Building Centre in Mount Forest, ON, has purchased a second building materials store in Walkerton, ON, which he has converted to a Home Hardware Building Centre. Called Young’s Home Building Centre, the grand opening took place in March.

Young has been involved with Home for nearly 30 years. From 1995 to 2004, he started his Home career as a manager at the Home Hardware Building Centre in Collingwood, ON, before purchasing Mount Forest Home Building Centre in 2004. Marty then converted Mount Forest store to a Home Hardware Building Centre in 2005.

In 2023, Young’s Mount Forest location was named Best Home Hardware Building Centre in the Central Region by Home Hardware Stores Limited, as part the Proud of My Home Achievement Awards. 

Young says he chose to join the Home banner because he knew it was a good program. “I have a personal familiarity with the Home program after growing my business with them for almost 30 years. Home Hardware’s brand recognition is second to none and my customers, both PROs and DIYers, know that when they come to a Home store, they will get top level service and a diverse product selection. We look forward to servicing the Walkerton area and helping with any and all building projects.”
