Montoni unveils Canada’s largest private green roof

Groupe Montoni has completed construction on the largest privately owned green roof in Canada at its Écoparc Saint-Bruno industrial campus. The roof spans 246,000 square feet, or nearly four soccer fields, and is part of Montoni’s $450 million campus development. The green roofing project, achieved in partnership with Alberta Investment Management Corporation, incorporates designs from eco-design firm Ohasis Tech and was installed by Toiture D. Jean.

The green roofs aim to reduce the building’s carbon footprint, enhance biodiversity, improve water management, and increase energy efficiency. The Écoparc Saint-Bruno campus has already received LEED Gold and Zero-Carbon Building certifications. The site is expected to create nearly 2,000 jobs and contribute significantly to local economic activity.
