New affordable housing initiative announced in Alma, Quebec

The Government of Canada and the Government of Quebec, along with Desjardins, Groupe Coderr, and the City of Alma, have announced a new affordable housing project in Alma, Quebec.

The Les Habitations Coderr project will feature 60 units, including 15 transitional housing units for people facing social exclusion. The project, part of the Desjardins Affordable Housing Initiative, aims to enhance social integration and inclusion.

The financial package totals nearly $18 million, with contributions from the federal and provincial governments, the City of Alma, and Desjardins. The project is set to welcome its first tenants in January 2026.
