Norbec opens new manufacturing plant in Strathroy
Norbec has opened a $45 million manufacturing plant in Strathroy, marking the company’s first facility in Ontario. The plant, which spans 156,000 square feet, is expected to create 70 jobs in the local area, contributing to economic growth in Middlesex County.
Norbec, a manufacturer of insulated metal panels, walk-in coolers, and freezers, chose the location to better serve the Ontario and Midwest US markets. The facility is the company’s third in Canada, joining two others in Quebec.
“The arrival of Norbec not only strengthens our local economy but also underscores our region’s potential as a hub for specialized manufacturing,” said Steve Pinsonneault, MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
The Ontario government supported the project with $1.5 million through its Regional Development Program, as noted by Effie J. Triantafilopoulos, MPP for Oakville North—Burlington.
The plant is expected to be fully operational by fall 2024.
