Pemberton and Lil’wat nation receive major water infrastructure boost

Two communities in British Columbia’s Sea to Sky Country will receive significant water infrastructure upgrades, following an announcement by federal and provincial officials. Pemberton will construct a new water treatment plant with over $8.1 million in funding from federal, provincial, and local sources. The plant will include an oxidation and filtration system to enhance drinking water quality. Meanwhile, the Grandmother Slough project, benefiting from $1.5 million in combined investments, will see improvements to fish habitats and flood resilience in the Lillooet River floodplain. These initiatives aim to ensure reliable water services and protect local ecosystems for future generations.
