Performance Coatings Drive Sherwin-Williams Sales

The Sherwin-Williams Company had net sales of $5.23 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022, up 9.8 per cent compared to net sales of $4.76 billion from the year-ago period. Earnings before tax (EBT) were $495 million, up 60.2 per cent compared to $309 million from the prior-year period, an increase of $186 million. By segment, the Americas group had net sales of $3.07 billion in the quarter, up 15.7 per cent year-over-year; the consumers brands group had net sales of $561.5 million, down 13.8 per cent; and the performance coatings group had net sales of $1.6 billion, up 64.9 per cent.
