Pilot Project To Accelerate Indigenous Housing

Indigenous-owned private credit fund, Keewaywin Capital Inc., has partnered with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) in a called the ‘Accelerated Construction Pilot Project.’ Focused on building more homes, faster, for Indigenous communities, in the project's first year, Keewaywin anticipates it will fund the building of approximately 150 to 225 homes. Over the project's lifecycle, it anticipates it will fund approximately 330 to 500 homes. It will provide short-term construction loans to interested Indigenous communities and CMHC will provide program co-ordination to support those communities that want to build homes in partnership with Keewaywin.
