RCC releases cyber security guidebook for retailers
The Retail Council of Canada (RCC) has released its Cyber Security For Retail Management guidebook and has made it available to the public. This guidebook is designed to help retail management protect their teams and businesses against the impact of retail crime. It helps retail managers to learn strategies on data security, remote access protection, and how to maintain a secure physical space. It includes self-assessment tools for quick threat identification.
Cyber attacks on businesses are more commonplace than people think, says RCC. In addition, cybercrimes are on the rise and can affect the daily operations of retail stores. Being cybersecurity aware involves being mindful of cyber security in the day-to-day running of retail operations. Managers must be mindful of risks in the day-to-day running of retail operations and stay vigilant to the dangers of staff and management browsing the web, payment processing, checking email, and interacting online, as they are all risk areas for cyber crimes.
