Retail magnate launches home store brand

Canadian retail magnate Doug Putman is launching a home store brand this summer in former Bed Bath & Beyond store locations. Putnam bought and transformed iconic brands in Canada, the US, and the UK, including Toys‘R’Us and Babies‘R’Us Canada and Sunrise Records. He has now acquired 800,000 square feet of real estate and will launch the rooms + spaces brand with 21 stores across Canada. It will carry a product assortment tailored to Canadian homes and decorating styles. The brand says it will support Canadian businesses and suppliers wherever possible and carry brands such as oxo, Homedics, Cuisinart, and Martex.
