Saskatoon adds 34 supportive housing units for at-risk individuals

Saskatoon now has 34 new supportive housing spaces available for vulnerable individuals at risk of homelessness, thanks to a new initiative by the Government of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Health Authority, and Crocus Co-operative.

The project repurposes the Robinson Manor apartment building, owned by Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC), to provide essential housing and support services.

Social Services Minister Gene Makowsky emphasized the initiative’s role in enhancing the lives of those at risk of homelessness. Funding includes over $1.6 million from the Saskatchewan Health Authority and $320,500 from SHC. Crocus Co-operative will manage the facility, offering 24/7 support and a range of programs for mental health and addiction challenges.

The project aligns with a broader $40.2 million commitment to expand supportive housing across Saskatchewan.
