Scotts Miracle-Gro Has First Quarter Loss

Scotts Miracle-Gro Company had net sales of $526.6 million for the first quarter of 2023, down seven per cent over sales of $566 million for the first quarter of 2022. Gross margin was $95.7 million, down 19 per cent over the year-ago period gross margin of $118.7 million. Hawthorne segment sales were $131.5 million, a decrease of 31 percent compared to $190.6 million year-over-year.
