Simpson Strong-Tie unveils new concealed beam hanger for heavy mass timber construction

Simpson Strong-Tie has introduced the Simpson Strong-Tie® HSKP™ heavy seated knife plate, a concealed beam hanger designed for robust mass timber structures. The HSKP supports substantial loads while maintaining a concealed-connector, wood-focused design.

Engineered to meet the demands of heavy mass timber beam loads, the HSKP is an easy-to-install, code-listed connector capable of accommodating larger mass timber beams while ensuring a secure wood-to-wood or wood-to-steel connection. It comes factory-installed with Strong-Drive® SDCF Timber-CF structural screws, saving valuable time on-site and offering a generous fit-up tolerance for simple beam placement. Code-listed for high-capacity loads of up to 32 kips, the HSKP suits a range of heavy beam applications with loads ranging from 20 to 32 kips.
