Stellarton Memorial Rink to become green multi-purpose facility

Stellarton Memorial Rink will undergo a $6 million transformation, funded by the federal government, to become a green, multi-purpose indoor recreation facility.

Announced by Minister Sean Fraser and Stellarton Memorial Community Centre Association president Darren Stroud, the revamped facility will feature an indoor walking track, volleyball, basketball, and pickleball courts. It will be renamed Stellarton Memorial Community Centre to honor fallen war veterans.

Enhancements include a removable stage, modernized locker rooms, and retractable bleachers. The project, supported by the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program, aims to improve accessibility, energy efficiency, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 298 tonnes annually.
