Strength meets style: New aesthetic SDWS screws for outdoor projects

Simpson Strong-Tie has introduced new SDWS Timber screws with a double-barrier black exterior coating. The new black Strong-Drive® SDWS Timber screws combine strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal, making the screws ideal for outdoor projects such as deck framing and pergolas.

Designed for high-strength wood-to-wood and wood-to-EWP attachments, the screws feature a bold thread design, a 0.220” shank diameter, and a large washer head. The double-barrier coating provides corrosion resistance equivalent to hot-dip galvanization.

Installation is made easier with a knurled shank, a patented SawTooth® point, and underhead nibs, eliminating the need for pre-drilling. The screws are available in lengths from 3" to 10" and can be purchased in individual or bulk packs.
