Strong Home Improvement Sector Boosts Home Depot Sales

The Home Depot had sales of $43.8 billion for the second quarter of 2022, an increase of 6.5 per cent over sales of $41.1 billion in the second quarter of 2021. Comparable sales for the quarter increased 5.8 per cent, and comparable sales in the U.S. increased 5.4 per cent year-over-year. Net earnings for the second quarter were $5.2 billion compared with net earnings of $4.8 billion in the year-ago period, representing a 7.6 per cent increase. Ted Decker, CEO and president of Home Depot, says the performance reflects continued strength in demand for home improvement projects.
