Thirty new homes coming to Kingston
The federal government, alongside the city of Kingston, has announced a combined investment of approximately $7.2 million to construct 30 new homes across three projects.
The announcement was made at 111 MacCauley Street, where Habitat for Humanity Kingston has completed eight affordable rental homes for individuals at risk of homelessness. A second project at 206 Concession Street will feature an 18-bedroom transitional housing facility operated by Addictions and Mental Health Services. A third initiative at 255 Yonge Street will consist of a four-unit development for Indigenous families, managed by Tipi Moza.
“Having access to safe and affordable homes for all is key to improving the health and well-being of our communities,” said Mark Gerretsen, MP for Kingston and the Islands.
