Unveiling the SGS Green Mark for greener choices
Consumers can now easily spot certified green products, as the SGS launch the SGS Green Mark to help businesses meet growing consumer demand for sustainable products.
This certification scheme covers seven environmental attributes: hazardous substance assessment, recycled content, PFAS assessment, biobased materials, PVC-free, industrial compostable, and biodegradability. Products displaying the SGS Green Mark undergo rigorous testing to verify these claims. The mark includes a QR code for consumers to access detailed verification information.
Keith Hutchinson, deputy head for connectivity and products global certification at SGS, emphasized that the SGS Green Mark helps minimize the risk of greenwashing. “We are extremely proud to launch the SGS Green Mark, driven by customers’ needs to build consumer trust,” he said.
Already adopted by companies in electronics and textiles, this mark supports informed, eco-friendly purchasing decisions.
