Water Security Agency announces significant investments in regional dams
The Water Security Agency (WSA) announced over $18 million in funding for six major water infrastructure projects in eastern Saskatchewan. This initiative includes a $9.7 million rehabilitation of Moosomin Dam’s spillway, enhancing safety and reliability. Minister David Marit emphasized the project’s role in sustaining agricultural and recreational water needs.
Other key projects involve interim repairs at Echo Lake Dam, safety upgrades at Dellwood Brook and Theodore Dams, and bridge deck replacements at Round Lake (Sinfield) Dam. These efforts are part of WSA’s 10-Year Rolling Infrastructure Rehabilitation Plan, aiming to ensure long-term safety and water security for Saskatchewan. The WSA plans to invest over $42 million in 2024-25 to support more than 60 critical water infrastructure projects.
