Weather impacts Fastenal Q1 sales

Fastenal Company had net sales of $1,895.1 million for the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 1.9 percent compared to net sales of $1,859.1 million in the first quarter of 2023. The company says sales were impacted by adverse weather. Gross profit as a percentage of sales decreased to 45.5 percent in the quarter, from 45.7 percent in the year-ago period. Net income was $297.7 million, an increase of 0.9 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023.
