West Fraser’s Lumber Strongest Segment

West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. had sales of $2.088 billion in the third quarter of 2022, down from sales of $2.358 billion in the third quarter of 2021. Earnings for the quarter were $216 million, down from $460 million in the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings were $426 million, representing 20 per cent of sales. The lumber segment had adjusted earnings of $160 million, up from $96 million last year, and lumber sales were $831 million up from $788 million. The North America engineered wood products (NA EWPs) segment had adjusted earning of $215 million compared to $612 million and the Europe engineered wood products (Europe EWPs) segment and adjusted earnings of $24 million compared to $90 million.
